Shootout in Greenville

Jeb Bush had to come out swinging at the ninth Republican presidential debate held in Greenville, South Carolina yesterday, and by many accounts he did. Maybe fists weren't enough, though, in what turned out to be the biggest shootout of the contest so far.

An overnight poll conducted by CBS News after the debate makes Jeb as an also-ran, with 32% of respondents picking Rubio as the winner, 24% Donald Trump, 19% John Kasich, and 12% Ted Cruz.

And if these numbers hold up . .

. . and Jeb ties with Carson for last, his days as a pretend gunslinger are over. He needs third place or better—knocking out Rubio on the way up—or his campaign chances go dim, I'd say. Especially with his brother stumping for him all over the Palmetto State.
