Willie Watson to Release Solo Album

Willie Watson's solo album Folk Singer Vol. 1 will be released May 6, 2014 through Acony Records—record company of Gillian Welch and her husband's Dave Rawlings Machine. Produced by Dave Rawlings, the release will "feature 10 songs that run the gamut from folk standards to obscure tunes."

Rawlings said in a recent news release that: "Willie is the only one of his generation who can make me forget these songs were ever sung before."

Watson will be in Nashville for a record release at Grimey’s on May 6, and will perform the following night at Music City Roots. On May 8 he wraps up his Nashville run at the Station Inn.
