Woman Lights Boyfriend On Fire

Mayra Crespo is on the run

NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT — Police are looking for Mayra Crespo, who they say threw alcohol on her boyfriend then lit him on fire.

Patrick O'Conner, 57, suffered burns to about 40 percent of his body, including his face, arms, and torso. Portions of his skin had burned off. He was screaming from the pain when police arrived.

O'Conner was initially treated at Yale-New Haven Hospital, but was transferred to the burn center at Bridgeport Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

Crespo, 46, is wanted on charges of first-degree arson, first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree breach of peace and violation of a protective order.
