The soundtrack to the recent movie BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN is certainly ample and compelling, perhaps most notably Willie Nelson's rendition of Bob Dylan's "He Was a Friend of Mine".
That shouldn't keep me from adding my own lyric to the canon: "Up On Brokeback Mountain".
I wrote that after reading Annie Proulx's short story and seeing the film a second time.
It's that good . .

I did a review of this movie on January 22 -- I'd post the link for you, but my blog template doesn't include that capability for the archives.
Thanks for the poem you posted the link for -- that was excellent!
Oh ... but it's gay cowboys. And I hate cowboys.
Bonjour! Glad to see your thoughts on the movie. I recently read Annie Proulx's novella, and found it moving (different from the movie, as stories always are, but equally full of nuances perhaps not in the movie).
How are you doing, by the way? Is this your main blog these days?
