Burt Porter, Lindsay Knowlton, and Galway Kinnell read at Bread and Puppet--Sunday, August 11, 2013 @ 5:30pm

Vermont poets Burt Porter, Lindsay Knowlton, and Galway Kinnell will read Sunday, August 11, 2013 at 5:30pm in the Paper-Mache Cathedral at Bread and Puppet in Glover, Vermont. The readings follow the "Total This & That Circus and Pageant" which begins at 2pm and are free.

  • Burt Porter has degrees from the University of Connecticut and Wesleyan and is known widely as a ballad singer, fiddler, and dance-caller.
  • Lindsay Knowlton has a BA from Skidmore and an MFA in poetry from Warren Wilson. A past recipient of a Massachusetts Council for the Arts and Humanities fellowship, she's twice been a fellow at the MacDowell Colony, receiving the Washington Poetry Prize from Word Works. She is an avid birder.
  • Galway Kinnell studied at Princeton and received his MFA from the University of Rochester. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry for his 1982 Selected Poems and from 1989 to 1993 was Vermont poet laureate.
