"Increase Website Traffic"

When I first wrote "Increase Website Traffic" it was a rather brazen attempt to do just that.

I thought maybe it would pull some of those looking to perform that trick (and who wasn't?) to my site where they'd stumble upon some of my poetry quite by surprise (who would be looking for it on purpose?).

I felt so mercantile about the whole thing, even thinking Google might downgrade my site for such a craven act of unartistic self-promotion, that I pulled it.

Then I went back up with it thinking it might not be so bad.

Lo and behold, someone else didn't think so either.

"Confession"

Thank God for The Reverend Eva Cameron of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Black Hawk County who quotes from my narrative poem "Confession" in her recent sermon on the topic.

The poem actually plays an important role in my development as a poet in that it played an important role in that it got me proclaimed "poet laureate" of Rapunzel's Coffee & Books in Lovingston, Virginia years ago.

The owner must have related to the story somehow.
